Role overview
The Production Technician will support day-to-day manufacturing operations, ensuring safe, compliant, and efficient production of high-quality product. The ideal candidate will bring hands-on experience from a biopharma or regulated manufacturing environment; strong mechanical assembly experience (building and fitting parts/sub-assemblies) is highly beneficial.
Key responsibilities

  • Operate production equipment and follow batch documentation/SOPs to meet safety, quality, and output targets.
  • Perform mechanical assembly of components/sub-assemblies to defined specifications.
  • Execute routine manufacturing tasks such as material handling, line setup/changeover, and basic troubleshooting.
  • Accurately complete GMP documentation in real time.
  • Conduct in-process checks and support sampling/inspection requirements per procedure.
  • Identify and escalate deviations, equipment issues, and quality concerns; support investigations as required.
  • Support equipment cleaning, line clearance, and 5S activities to maintain a compliant and audit-ready area.
  • Assist with maintenance activities (first-line maintenance), coordinating with Engineering/Maintenance teams where needed.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives (yield, downtime, scrap reduction, cycle time improvements).
  • Adhere to EHS standards at all times, including safe systems of work and risk assessments.

Requirements

  • Experience in a production/manufacturing environment
  • Strong hands-on mechanical aptitude with proven assembly experience (parts, tools, fixtures, drawings).
  • Comfortable working to SOPs and quality standards; strong attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work as part of a shift/team environment.
  • Biopharma/pharma/medical device experience with GMP documentation.
  • Experience in cleanroom environments and good contamination control practices.
  • Experience with troubleshooting equipment
  • QQI Level 5/6, apprenticeship, or technical qualification in Engineering/Mechanical/Manufacturing (or equivalent).
