Job Summary:

We are seeking a full-time, detail-oriented Controller with a strong background in multinational accounting operations to ensure the integrity of financial reporting and analysis across multiple subsidiaries. You will be responsible for hands-on leadership of the finance and accounting functions, managing the financial reporting, accounting, budgeting, and forecasting, utilization of data, analytics, and KPIs for our entities in the US and Chile.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Work with Partners and Fractional CFO (CFO) to ensure its subsidiaries and related companies have standardized and transparent/accurate financial recording and reporting.
  • Manage, mentor, and train the accounting team to enhance skills and competencies.
  • Lead the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close process to ensure accurate and timely financial statements and related reporting data.
  • Review monthly account reconciliations to verify completeness and accuracy in financial, customer invoicing, and project reporting.
  • Oversee general ledger, A/P, A/R, bank, and credit card reconciliations, journal entries, and accounting for payroll and benefits.
  • Oversee fixed assets and depreciation.
  • Perform, accurately record, and report foreign currency translation adjustments and transactions.
  • Manage the Chilean accounting personnel and related reporting.
  • Establish, implement, monitor, and improve financial and internal controls.
  • Support the CFO with local, state, US Federal, and Chilean tax compliance, planning, and recording.
  • Support the CFO with tracking and reporting for treasury-related functions.
  • Support the CFO with preparing consistent and structured financial reports to track financial performance and help with forecasting to guide business and project profitability analysis and decision-making.
  • Support Partners and CFO with management of PEO, tax accountants the US and Chile, vendors, and insurance providers the US and Chile, vendors, and insurance providers.
  • Support Partners and CFO with lending and associated financial reporting requirements, company credit applications, and company registrations.
  • Support Partners and CFO with strategic financial objectives and identify and minimize potential risks.
  • Ensure the integrity of the financial reporting system and the accuracy of the financial data while ensuring optimized and efficient use of the accounting system.
  • Serve as the point of contact for the Partners on financial, insurance, and tax matters, and participate in all operations meetings.
  • Work with tax CPAs to provide tax compliance, help with tax planning, and associated reporting.
  • Oversee and manage all invoicing and balance sheet accounts, including escrow, accounts payable, accounts receivable, debt collection, payroll, partner capital accounts, and all other financial accounts.
  • Provide cross-functional support to the operations team as needed.
  • Other projects as assigned.

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in accounting and financial management, including supervisory responsibilities
  • Bachelor's Degree in accounting or finance
  • Proficiency with NetSuite; ERP implementation experience is preferred.
  • Proficient in budgeting, forecasting, financial modeling, analytics, and dashboards
  • Strategic thinking and analytical problem-solving skills
  • Commitment to leading and developing a collaborative teaming environment
  • Understanding of multi-currency, foreign subsidiaries, and multi-jurisdictional tax matters
  • Proactive prioritization and management of responsibilities (own and team's)
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively with cross-departmental staff members and affiliated organizations
  • Ability to give and receive feedback to foster equity and inclusion in working relationships
  • Experience in developing accounting policies, procedures, and systems required for compliance
  • Expertise in multinational financial analysis, business processes, and internal controls
  • Application and understanding of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and financial management
  • Tax and capital management experience
  • Understanding of US and foreign tax regulations and regulatory reporting
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including an ability to navigate and resolve conflict in a manner that values and respects relationships
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
  • Proficiency in the Spanish language is preferred.
