HRGO Recruitment (Luton) are one of the longest suppliers of temporary & permanent staff supporting Luton Airport. For over 10 years we been one of the main suppliers to both Ground Handlers & Airside Service Providers.

 

We are currently recruiting for Baggage Handlers/Ramp Agent working at the ever-expanding Luton Airport. Massive opportunities working for one of the largest European Ground Handling companies. As a Baggage Handler/Ramp Agent you will have a range of duties working in and around aircraft from the moment it lands until it takes off.

 

Duties include:

 

  • Lifting & Loading Baggage of up to 32kg
  • Transporting Baggage to & from the terminal using Electric Tug Cart/LDV (Light Duty Vehicles)
  • Marshalling & Positioning of Aircraft before take-off and after landing
  • Manoeuvring and positioning aircraft steps
  • Use of 2-way radios
  • Other ramp duties as delegated by the Team Leader
  • Aircraft inspections.
  • Daily operator checks and operate all vehicles and ramp equipment used during turnaround
  • Work in accordance with agreed Company procedures

 

Qualifications and Competencies:

 

  • Full UK or EU driving MANUAL license
  • The ability to lift and move heavy baggage, and work outdoors in all weathers.
  • A respectful, friendly and supportive approach.
  • Flexibility and the ability to adapt to changing priorities and situations.
  • Good communication skills
  • Prepared to cover 24/7 operation
  • Clean criminal record
  • Live no more than 30-minute commute


All successful candidates must have the right to work in the UK, undertake a DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) and provide 5 years referencing history.

 

Pay Rate: £8.94 - £9.59 per hour

 

Shift/Hours:

Shifts will fall on weekdays, weekends and bank holidays. Individual shifts consist of early shifts starting at 02:30 and late shifts finishing as a late as 23:00. Shift patterns are below and all are contracted 30 hours per week with overtime available.

 

4 on 2 off – 2 Early & 2 Late shifts

6 on 3 off - 3 Early & 3 Late shifts

 

  • Applicants must attend mandatory 1-2 weeks mandatory paid training, usually Monday-Friday.
