Mobile Plant Fitter

Salary:  £30,000 – £40,000 per annum
Full-Time | Permanent | Onsite

We are recruiting for an experienced Mobile Plant Fitter to join a growing and well-established plant hire business operating across the West Midlands.

This role would suit someone with strong mechanical and fault-finding experience, ideally from a plant, heavy equipment, HGV, agricultural, or vehicle breakdown/roadside repair background. Experience responding to breakdowns and working under pressure would be highly beneficial.

The role involves servicing, maintaining, and repairing a range of construction plant equipment across customer sites and workshop locations.

The Role

• Diagnose faults and carry out repairs on a range of construction plant equipment including excavators, dumpers, and associated machinery
• Conduct routine servicing and preventative maintenance
• Attend breakdowns across customer sites within the West Midlands
• Complete pre-hire inspections and safety checks
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and job paperwork
• Ensure all work is completed in line with health & safety standards
• Work closely with the wider plant and operations team to minimise downtime

About You

• Previous experience working on vehicle breakdown, plant hire, construction, or heavy equipment sector
• Strong mechanical and fault-finding skills
• Experience with auto-electrics is highly advantageous
• Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively
• Good understanding of workshop and on-site health & safety procedures
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills
• Full UK Driving Licence essential

Desirable Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Construction Plant Maintenance & Repair
• CSCS Card
• Experience within the vehicle breakdown, plant hire, construction, or heavy equipment sector
