Salary: GBP50000 - GBP55000 per annum

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join an established and growing UK designer and manufacturer operating across a wide range of bespoke and non-standard manufacturing projects.

Due to anticipated growth and an expanding project pipeline, they are seeking a commercially minded, hands-on Commercial Manager to take ownership of pricing, estimation, and the commercial interface between sales and production.

This is a key role within the business, offering genuine scope to lead from the front while remaining closely involved in day-to-day commercial delivery. The successful candidate will play a pivotal part in shaping how projects are costed, delivered, and transitioned into production.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work directly with customer drawings, specifications, and supporting project information to interpret requirements accurately
  • Analyse large volumes of drawing packs and technical documentation across multiple concurrent projects
  • Produce detailed Bills of Materials (BOMs) from scratch based on project requirements
  • Develop accurate and competitive pricing models for quotations across bespoke projects and non-standard product work
  • Prepare and submit comprehensive commercial quotations within required deadlines
  • Act as the key interface between the Sales team and Production, ensuring smooth handover from enquiry through to manufacture
  • Work closely with internal teams to ensure pricing reflects production capabilities, materials, and lead times
  • Identify commercial risks, opportunities, and value engineering options where appropriate
  • Support continuous improvement in costing, estimating, and commercial processes
  • Where required, support broader operational and team activities in a collaborative, hands-on manner

About You

The client is looking for a motivated and commercially astute individual who thrives in a fast-paced, project-driven environment. You will be comfortable working with technical drawings and building pricing models from first principles.

The ideal candidate will:

  • Have experience within furniture industry, joinery, interior fit-out, kitchen and bathroom fit-out, timber products, or a closely related industry
  • Be confident interpreting technical drawings and complex project information
  • Have strong commercial awareness with the ability to build pricing from scratch
  • Be both innovative and practical in approach, balancing accuracy with speed
  • Demonstrate leadership potential and a desire to grow with the business
  • Be comfortable taking ownership while also supporting wider team needs where necessary
  • Have strong communication skills to bridge sales, estimating, and production teams
  • Be motivated by working in a growing business with genuine progression opportunities

 

What We Offer
