The Best Connection are currently recruiting for an experienced Centreless Grinder on behalf of our established engineering client based in Stourbridge.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a busy and growing manufacturing business, offering competitive rates of pay, regular overtime and the potential for an immediate start.

Centreless Grinder (Setter/Operator)

Location

Stourbridge, West Midlands

Pay Rate

£14.00 - £16.50 per hour

Rate dependent upon experience, skill level and the ability to set and operate independently.

Working Hours

Monday to Friday

• 07:00 – 15:30

Overtime Rates

• Weekday overtime paid at Time + 1/3
• Saturday overtime paid at Time + 1/2

Key Responsibilities

• Setting and operating centreless grinding machines.
• Producing precision components to customer specifications and tight tolerances.
• Reading and interpreting engineering drawings.
• Carrying out in-process and final inspections.
• Using measuring equipment including micrometers, verniers and gauges.
• Making machine adjustments to maintain product quality and efficiency.
• Working to production targets and quality standards.
• Ensuring a safe, clean and organised working environment.

Experience Required

• Previous experience in centreless grinding is essential.
• Ability to set and operate centreless grinding machinery.
• Experience working within a precision engineering or manufacturing environment.
• Competent in reading engineering drawings.
• Good understanding of quality inspection procedures and measuring equipment.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
