The Best Connection Dudley are recruiting for Band saw setter. The role offers regular shifts Monday to Friday with a chance of becoming permanent after a 12 week trial period. Register today and start tomorrow.

Working Hours:

• Monday to Thursday: 7:45am – 4:45pm
• Friday: 7:45am – 3:45pm
• Lunch: 1:00pm – 1:30pm (unpaid)

Benefits:

• 33 days holiday per year, inclusive of bank holidays, taken during factory shutdown periods.
• Overtime available on mornings and/or weekends when required.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate band saw machinery to cut carbon steel.
• Set up and adjust saw blades, tooling and fixtures for various cutting tasks.
• Inspect finished products to ensure quality standards are met.
• Maintain a clean and safe working environment.
• Load and unload raw materials.
• Carry out routine equipment maintenance.
• Work from technical drawings and detailed work instructions.
• Support other engineering activities during quieter periods.

Requirements:

• Good level of maths and literacy.
• Ability to work accurately and follow Health & Safety procedures.
• Strong communication skills and team-working ability.
• Willingness to undertake training and development.
• Positive attitude with pride in producing quality work.
• Previous band saw experience is essential.
• Overhead Crane Licence required.
• FLT Licence advantageous.
• Welding experience associated with band saw operations beneficial.

Pay:Rate £15.74ph
