HGV Class 1 Driver – Temp to Perm Opportunity

4 on 4 off Shift Pattern – Darlington

The Best Connection is currently recruiting reliable and motivated HGV Class 1 Drivers for an exciting temp-to-perm opportunity with our well-established client based in Darlington. This is a fantastic chance to join a respected transport operation specialising in container transport, refrigerated trailers, and general haulage, with a wide variety of runs across the UK to keep every shift interesting.

Please note: You must be available to begin the 4 on 4 off shift rotation after Induction which is immediately available. 

The Role:

• Transporting containers, refrigerated trailers, and general haulage loads to destinations across the UK.

• Completing a variety of runs, ensuring no two weeks are the same.

• Carrying out daily vehicle checks and completing all relevant paperwork accurately.

• Providing excellent customer service at collection and delivery points.

• Night-shifts being offered

• Representing both The Best Connection and our client in a safe, professional, and courteous manner.

What We're Looking For:

• A valid HGV Class 1 (Category C+E) licence.

• A valid Driver CPC qualification and Digital Tachograph Card.

• A minimum of 2 years' HGV Class 1 driving experience is preferred.

• A good understanding of drivers' hours legislation and road transport regulations.

• A reliable, professional, and flexible approach to work.

• Strong communication skills and a positive attitude.

• The ability to work independently and manage your workload effectively.

Hours of Work:

• Night shift - hours to be discussed

• 4 on 4 off shift pattern, providing an excellent work-life balance.

• Weekend working included as part of the rota.

Pay Rates:

• £17.00 per hour – Monday to Friday.

• £19.00 per hour being offered on temp to perm
