The Best Connection are recruiting experienced HGV Class 1 (C+E) Drivers for a brand-new contract with a leading national logistics company based in Derby.

We have a range of shift patterns available including Days, Nights, 5 on 3 off rotations, and 4 on 4 off Shunter/Driver positions. These roles offer ongoing work, excellent pay rates, modern vehicles, and potential temporary-to-permanent opportunities.

Pay Rates & Benefits

• £14.01 per hour (Days - 06:00 to 18:00)
• £17.51 per hour (Nights - 18:00 to 06:00)
• Overtime after 39 hours: £21.02 to £28.02 per hour
• Sunday rates up to £35.03 per hour
• Paid breaks
• Minimum 8 hours guaranteed per shift

Available Shift Patterns

HGV Class 1 Driver - Days

5 On / 3 Off

• Start times between 06:00 and 08:00

HGV Class 1 Driver - Afternoons

5 On / 3 Off

• Start times between 09:00 and 12:00

HGV Class 1 Shunter / Driver

4 On / 4 Off Rotation

• 2 Day Shifts / 2 Night Shifts / 4 Days Off
• Day shift start time: 06:00
• Night shift start time: 18:00

The Role

As a Class 1 Driver, your duties will include:

• Trunking deliveries and collections between Regional Distribution Centres (RDCs)
• Curtain-sided trailer work
• No handball or manual unloading
• Vehicle defect checks and daily walkaround inspections
• Load security and compliance checks
• Completion of delivery paperwork and driver debriefs
• Safe and professional driving at all times

Shunter Driver Responsibilities

• Yard shunting and trailer movements
• Vehicle and trailer checks
• Supporting transport operations onsite
• Maintaining safe yard procedures
• Occasional driving duties as required

Requirements

To be considered for these positions, you must have:

• Valid HGV Class 1 (C+E) Licence
• Driver CPC Qualification Card
• Digital Tachograph Card
• Minimum 12 months Class 1 driving experience
• Good understanding of Drivers' Hours and Working Time Directive regulations
• Strong commitment to safety and compliance
