Management Accounting Controller (9VX7ZE-1318DAD5) Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates


We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Management Accounting Controller to join a dynamic team in Abu Dhabi. This is an exciting opportunity to play a pivotal role in the financial management of a manufacturing facility. The successful candidate will be responsible for meeting internal and external reporting requirements, providing financial insights, and supporting management with key project performance metrics.



Key Responsibilities:

As the Management Accounting Controller, your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Budgeting & Planning:

    • Prepare annual project and venture budgets in compliance with Project Framework Agreements (PFA) and Shareholders Agreements (SHA).
    • Develop and implement budgeting guidelines while ensuring consistency.
    • Challenge business inputs when necessary and maintain an audit trail of key assumptions and data sources.
    • Prepare the annual five-year business plan.
  • Financial Reporting & Analysis:

    • Perform budget performance reporting, including variance analysis, cost forecasts, and commitment tracking.
    • Maintain oversight of owner’s cost spending and report on cost performance.
    • Review contractor cost and cash flow reports for compliance with agreed procedures, challenging discrepancies as needed.
    • Maintain cash forecasts and prepare funding requests (cash calls).
  • Risk Management & Compliance:

    • Review finance, tax, and reporting clauses in new contracts to identify potential financial risks.
    • Represent the finance function in risk management activities.
    • Coordinate with project insurers, provide updates as required, and act as the focal point for claims procedures.
  • Stakeholder Support:

    • Provide financial input into weekly/monthly reports, steering committee presentations, and CEO dashboards.
    • Support the review of contractor claims and variation requests.
    • Collaborate with internal teams such as  Project Management Team, Shared Services, and Treasury Manager.

Candidate Requirements:

To excel in this role, you should meet the following qualifications:

  • Education & Skills:

    • Professional accounting qualification such as CIMA or ACCA is mandatory.
    • Fluency in written and verbal English is essential.
    • Extensive knowledge of international accounting standards (IAS) and financial reporting standards (IFRS).
    • Proficiency in SAP software is required.
    • Strong understanding of internal controls principles and delegation of authority processes.
  • Experience & Competencies:

    • Proven ability to work effectively in fast-paced environments.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within multicultural teams.
    • Full knowledge of business processes related to large-scale projects.
