We are recruiting a Group Finance Director for a fast-growing clean energy group based in the UAE. As the Group Finance Director, your primary responsibilities will include:
Finance Operations Management:
- Oversee payments, treasury, accounts payable/receivable, bookkeeping, and financial administration across all entities.
- Ensure efficient and accurate financial processes that align with the organisation’s growth objectives.
System Development & Scalability:
- Design and implement scalable frameworks, processes, and internal controls to support rapid expansion across multiple markets.
- Optimise ERP systems to improve accuracy, efficiency, and reporting quality.
Multi-Entity Oversight:
- Manage financial administration for holding entities, as well as operating subsidiaries across Africa and other regions.
- Ensure consistency and compliance across all legal entities within the group structure.
Treasury & Cash Flow Management:
- Lead cash flow management, foreign exchange oversight, and banking relationships across various markets.
- Maintain robust treasury operations to support business needs in emerging markets.
Compliance & Reporting:
- Ensure adherence to obligations under development finance institution agreements and debt facility covenants.
- Coordinate external audits and ensure timely statutory reporting and regulatory filings for all entities.
Team Leadership:
- Build, mentor, and manage a high-performing finance team distributed across multiple locations.
- Foster collaboration and alignment within the finance function to drive operational excellence.
Executive Collaboration:
- Partner closely with senior leadership (including the CEO, CFO, and country finance leads) to align finance operations with organisational strategy.
- Provide strategic input on financial matters to support decision-making at the executive level.
Candidate Requirements:
To excel in this role, you should meet the following qualifications:
Education & Skills:
- Professional accounting qualification (e.g., CPA, ACCA, or equivalent) is highly desirable.
- Fluency in written and verbal English; additional languages are a plus.
- Strong knowledge of international accounting standards (IAS) and financial reporting standards (IFRS).
- Familiarity with ERP systems such as Odoo is an advantage.
Experience & Competencies:
- At least 15+ years of experience in finance operations leadership roles within multi-entity international structures. CFO experience or readiness is preferred.
- Proven ability to build and scale finance operations in high-growth environments spanning multiple markets.
- Deep expertise in treasury management, payments processing, AP/AR functions, financial controls within complex group structures, IPO preparation, and M&A activities.
- Exposure to DFIs, development finance organisations, or impact-driven businesses is advantageous. Experience in African markets or off-grid energy sectors is highly desirable.
- Hands-on approach with strong execution capabilities; able to balance strategic vision with operational detail.
