Morgan Hunt are working with a consultancy to recruit a Principal Structural Engineer to join their Edinburgh office. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled engineer to play a key role in delivering a diverse portfolio of building structures projects across multiple sectors, while contributing to the development of a growing team. You will work closely with clients, architects and multidisciplinary design teams to lead structural engineering projects from concept through to completion.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the structural design and delivery of projects across a range of sectors, including:
- Commercial
- Retail
- Banking
- Education
- Distilleries
- Energy infrastructure, including substations
- Manage projects through all design stages, ensuring delivery to programme, budget and quality standards
- Produce and review structural calculations, drawings, specifications and technical reports
- Mentor and support graduate and junior engineers
- Contribute to business development by maintaining strong client relationships and identifying opportunities for repeat business
What you bring:
- A degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
- Chartered Engineer status or be working towards chartership
- Significant experience in the design and delivery of building structures projects
- Experience across a range of sectors such as commercial, retail, education, industrial, distilleries or energy infrastructure would be advantageous
- Strong knowledge of UK design standards and current building regulations
- Experience using industry-standard structural analysis and design software
- Strong communication skills
