Location: Birmingham
Hours: Monday to Friday, either 07:00am - 3:30pm or 07:30am - 4:00pm (flexibility to suit the successful candidate)
Pay Rate: £13.53 per hour
Manufacturing Technician Opportunity
We are currently recruiting for a Manufacturing Technician to join a leading manufacturing operation in Birmingham. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to develop their career within a production and laboratory-based environment.
The role is suited to candidates who are reliable, organised, and able to follow processes accurately. Previous manufacturing, laboratory, production, or quality-focused experience would be beneficial, although full training will be provided for the right candidate.
Key Responsibilities
- Follow production plans and complete assigned tasks accurately.
- Manage stock and materials required for daily work activities.
- Perform routine activities on equipment and work areas.
- Carry out data recording and process checks.
- Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Maintain accurate records and documentation.
- Support quality and continuous improvement activities.
- Assist with troubleshooting and resolving basic process issues.
- Ensure work is completed safely and to the required standards.
Candidate Requirements
- GCSE-level education or equivalent.
- Previous experience within a manufacturing, production, warehouse, laboratory, or similar environment is desirable.
- Good attention to detail and a willingness to learn.
- Basic computer skills, including experience using Microsoft Excel and other digital systems.
- Good communication and record-keeping skills.
- Ability to follow written procedures and instructions.
- Basic mathematical skills and an understanding of measurements.
- A positive attitude and strong work ethic.
Working Environment
This position operates within a manufacturing and laboratory setting and will require candidates to:
- Work safely whilst handling materials and chemical solutions.
- Wear the appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Follow all health, safety, and quality procedures.
- Lift and move items weighing up to 20kg when required.
- Occasionally work overtime, including weekends, to support operational requirements.
