Position Summary
The Executive Director of Gift Policy and Advancement Information Services is a leader, thought partner, and subject-matter expert in the field of advancement. This position is responsible for building and maintaining the intelligence and systems infrastructure of the University of Denver's comprehensive advancement efforts.
The Executive Director provides the vision and strategy for implementing value-added enterprise solutions to achieve the University of Denver's Advancement objectives. This includes direct oversight of the gift administration and records management team (GARM). In this capacity, the Executive Director is responsible for maintaining and elevating the integrity, accessibility and performance of CRM Advance, the University of Denver's database of record for advancement data. They will also be a key advisor to leaders and colleagues in advancement and across campus, helping to shape, direct, and document division-wide policies, processes, and procedures. This position is also responsible for administering and stewarding the data and IT resources of the Advancement office.
Reporting directly to the Associate Vice Chancellor for Advancement Operations, the Executive Director is a key leader and advisor to colleagues in advancement, university administrators, and partners across DU. In this capacity, the Executive Director will lead a team of skilled professionals to shape advancement data, systems, and strategies that serve the mission of DU.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience (Veterans with an equivalent combination of military certification/education and experience may substitute for the degree qualification).
- 7 years of experience in managing operational, financial, and records/database systems in a large, complex environment.
- 3 years of experience managing personnel, with a demonstrated commitment to coaching, mentoring, and developing team members.
- Advanced understanding of relevant gift accounting standards, including those offered by the IRS, Federal Accounting Standards Board (FASB), Voluntary Support of Education (VSE), and CASE.
- Experience in successfully managing projects from the planning stages to execution and analysis.
Work Schedule
Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.; some nights and weekends, as required

Salary Grade Number:
The salary grade for the position is 15.
Salary Range:
The salary range for this position is $115,000 - $130,000.
The University of Denver has provided a compensation range that represents its good faith estimate of what the University may pay for the position at the time of posting. The University may ultimately pay more or less than the posted compensation range. The salary offered to the selected candidate will be determined based on factors such as the qualifications of the selected candidate, departmental budget availability, internal salary equity considerations, and available market information, but not based on a candidates sex or any other protected status.
