Warehouse Operative

The Best Connection are currently recruiting for a reliable and motivated Warehouse Operative to join our client's team on a temporary-to-permanent basis for the right candidate.

This is a varied role, initially working approximately warehouse duties but also may be required to deliver the products to different sites to therefor driving license required.

Within a few months, the position will transition to a nightshift role, where the duties will still be the same as the dayshift with warehousing and driving work.

Pay & Incentives

Dayshift

  • £13.05 per hour
  • Increasing to £13.17 per hour after 12 weeks

Nightshift

  • £14.68 per hour
  • Increasing to £14.81 per hour after 12 weeks

Bonus

  • Potential to earn a £750 quarterly bonus after 12 weeks' service

Working Hours

Dayshift

  • Monday to Friday: 05:30 – 14:30
  • Every fourth Saturday: 08:00 – 12:00

Nightshift

  • Monday to Wednesday: 22:00 – 06:30
  • Thursday to Friday: 22:00 – 07:30

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Loading and unloading goods safely
  • Picking and preparing customer orders
  • Ensuring products are handled carefully and delivered in suitable condition
  • Supporting general warehouse duties
  • Stock counting and general stock control
  • Putting stock away accurately
  • Following all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
  • Maintaining high standards of health and safety
  • Working effectively as part of a busy team
  • Driving to locations including Dumfries, Carlisle, Lancaster and Glasgow

Requirements

  • Previous warehouse and/or driving experience
  • Good attention to detail
  • Ability to handle products safely and responsibly
  • Ability to follow SOPs consistently
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Reliable and flexible approach to work
  • Comfortable working across both warehouse and driving duties
  • Willingness to transition from dayshift to nightshift within a few months

Additional Information

A Drugs & Alcohol test will be carried out within the first 6 weeks of employment.
