About the Role

We are working with an FE college in Southampton to recruit a passionate and supportive Teacher of Pathways – Employability & Life Skills.

You will support learners to build confidence, make progress and achieve their potential within a supportive learning environment.

We are looking for someone who is compassionate, flexible and able to work effectively with young people who may have experienced challenges in their education.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and prepare engaging lessons, develop learning resources and maintain a positive classroom environment.

  • Monitor student progress, provide constructive feedback and support learners to improve.

  • Assess students' work and help them work towards their qualifications and future goals.

  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to enhance teaching delivery, identify learner support needs and contribute to student enrichment.

  • Deliver tutorials and life skills sessions using prepared lesson resources where required.

  • Provide appropriate pastoral support to help students engage with learning and progress successfully.

Requirements

  • GCSE English and Maths at grade C/4 or equivalent Level 2 qualifications.

  • Experience working with young people with anxiety, ASD and/or ADHD.
