Production Engineer

Paying up to £30,000 per annum

Permanent Role

Monday – Friday: Days:  39 hour week

Our client in Leicester is looking for a Production Engineer to join their team on a permanent basis.

They specialise in the manufacture of Aerospace components and offer a competitive package with great company benefits.

Job description:

• To interpret complex customer drawings (including datum alignment Influence) in order to produce accurate work instructions.
• To implement / develop best practice machining and gauging processes that meet the requirements of the drawing, specifications, and meet process quality, cost & lead time.
• To provide technical support to the shop floor for new product introduction & existing process improvements.
• To create/update best practice CNC programs for all different types of machine tools (Grinding, EDM, Milling, Laser etc.)
• To use lean tools and techniques to remove waste from the manufacturing system. To create/update customer brochure / approval packages to include FAIRS’s, FPA’s, PPQ’s, PLQ’s, FPR’s, MCR’s, DAR’s etc.
• To be effective in communicating with all the workforce, the supplier and the customer. To be persuasive, confident, factual and have the ability to make fact-based decision 

Essential Criteria:

• A degree in relevant engineering discipline, preferably in Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent experience / qualification
• Knowledge of aerospace manufacturing, conventional and special process machining concepts.
• Strong proficiency in using various problem-solving methodologies.
• Ability to understand and interpret complex engineering drawings and geometries
• Ability to lead change and champion ideas
• Excellent communication and ability to influence others
• Very keen interest in precision engineering and manufacturing
• Ability to prioritize multiple projects within challenging timeframes
• Knowledge or experience of Lean manufacturing principles and how these can be
• Applied to a workplace setting.
