We are currently working on behalf of a not-for-profit organisation, who is recruiting for a Housing Support Assistant to provide low level housing support to young people aged 16-19 living within a supported housing scheme.

The role is offered on a permanent PART-TIME basis, with a shift pattern comprising of both early (8am – 4pm) and late shifts (12pm – 8pm). The role will solely be working a rota of Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays or Mondays.

Responsibilities of the Housing Support Assistant:

  • Working within a 21-bed supported housing unit, providing low level housing support to young people aged 16-19 years
  • Actively promoting resident involvement in unit activities
  • Helping residents identify their goals in terms of employment, training, education and future housing
  • Providing practical assistance and advice to residents in areas such as welfare benefits, money management and independent living skills
  • Maintaining active links with relevant external statutory and voluntary agencies such as Social Services and Aftercare services to ensure that all residents support needs are met
  • Working with residents to help them prepare for living independently and resettlement in the community
  • Dealing with referrals to the scheme and participating in the assessment of new applicants
  • Maintaining the safety and security of the building

Experience of the Housing Support Assistant includes:

  • Previous experience working within a similar supported housing setting is desirable
  • Willingness to undergo an Enhanced DBS check
