We are currently working on behalf of a not-for-profit organisation, who is recruiting for a Housing Support Worker on a temporary to permanent basis.
The service supports adults with complex needs and a history of homelessness/rough sleeping – the aim of the service is to provide emergency & temporary accommodation and complete an assessment of future housing need, with a quick turnover of moving customers on into more secure and stable housing.
Responsibilities of the Housing Support Worker includes:
- Working across dispersed accommodation in Burnley
- Providing resettlement and housing management support to a portfolio of customers within a supported housing project or dispersed tenancy
- Encouraging independent living
- Promoting tenancy sustainment
- Assisting clients to maximise their income
- Completing the induction process with new clients
- Assisting with the access to training, education and employment opportunities
- Signposting clients to other services within the community
- Completing housing benefit, council tax and universal credit claims
- Conducting risk and needs assessments
Requirements of the Housing Support Worker:
- Enhanced DBS
- Driver and access to a vehicle
