About the Role

We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Lecturer in Chemistry to join our academic team on a fixed-term basis. This is an excellent opportunity for a passionate educator to contribute to high-quality teaching and student success within a supportive and collaborative environment.

The successful candidate will deliver engaging Chemistry lessons to students, prepare teaching materials, assess student progress, and contribute to the academic development of the department.


Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality teaching across Chemistry courses.
  • Plan, prepare, and assess lessons in line with curriculum requirements.
  • Monitor and support student progress and achievement.
  • Provide academic guidance and pastoral support where appropriate.
  • Maintain accurate records of attendance, assessment, and student performance.
  • Participate in departmental meetings and quality assurance activities.
  • Contribute to curriculum development and the continuous improvement of teaching practices.

Essential Requirements

  • A degree in Chemistry or a closely related discipline.
  • A recognised teaching qualification or willingness to work towards one (where applicable).
  • Experience teaching Chemistry in a school, college, or higher education setting.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • A commitment to inclusive teaching and supporting learners from diverse backgrounds.

Desirable

  • A postgraduate qualification in Chemistry or Education.
  • Experience teaching practical laboratory sessions.
  • Knowledge of current curriculum and assessment requirements.
  • Experience using digital learning platforms and educational technology.
