IT Terminal Operating System Specialist (IT TOS Specialist) (ITTOSSP) Stanford-Le-Hope, England

Salary: GBP42000 - GBP43000 per annum + Bonus and Benefits Package
As the IT Terminal Operating System Specialist (IT TOS Specialist) you will assist the Systems Team in ensuring the integrated terminal system solutions are thoroughly tested and operational within the agreed schedules, meeting the business requirements. You will also assist the Systems Manager and be a part of the Systems team for Testing, Integration, commissioning and go-live preparations for all systems required for the automated terminal.

Key Responsibilities:

• Complete understanding of Navis XPS and N4;
• Provide inputs to the development of strategy, policy, and standards for their specific areas of expertise;
• Proactively engage with the user community to collect information about problem and leads user through diagnostic procedures to determine source of error, for simple problems. More complex problems are referred to supervision;
• Answers all enquiries regarding status on resolving generic IT and specific business application problems, working an on-call rota for 24/7 support across the terminal;
• Contribute to the implementation of projects/tasks within the defined scope, time and budget within the framework;
• Configure, install and maintain TOS, its specific modules and its interfaces with the other applications;
• Execute the daily IT operational support;
• Provide inputs to the implementation of Application portfolio - ERP and other applications when applicable;
• Contribute to the infrastructure implementation within the TOS requirement inputs;
• Execute the IT Business Application configurations and specifications for deployment/commissioning of container terminal specific equipment in collaboration with the maintenance, engineering and facility management teams;
• Installs, modifies and makes minor repairs to application, and provides technical assistance and training to system users;
• Contributing with practical solutions for business-critical projects;
• Develop and maintain a set of tools to anticipate scenarios to provide accurate information so that section heads can pre-plan activities accordingly;
• Provide support to Operations team to identify trends in performance, leading to opportunities to predict future improvements and opportunities;
• Advise the planning teams on areas for improvement based on reviewed statistics and other available information;
• Review Terminal Operating system (Navis), monitor and document best practices across Operations teams;
• Continually monitor, identify and implement changes that can further improve operations. Seeking alternative planning strategies to improve terminal efficiency's.

Qualifications, skills and Experience Required:

• Good knowledge of the IT environment;
• Experience with Business Process Modelling and Incident Investigation
• Ability to take on any operational requirements, turn them into business processes;
• Able to devise IT test plans and implement them including training users;
• Able to create documentation and training material if needed;
• Be able to work within a team, especially as needed to meet challenging deadlines;
• Work effectively under pressure;
• Good communication skills with the ability to work with Operations and IT staff;
• Be able to use initiative and act independently or as part of a larger team, able to prioritise work load to meet requirements as set by Line Manager;
• Possess understanding in the areas of application customisation, database and system design;
• Have the confidence to suggest areas for improvement along with possible solutions;
• Able to work under certain pressure circumstances;
• Proven practical experience working with Navis TOS system;
• Writing detailed requirement and functional specifications for complex business needs;
• Comply with Fatal Risk Standards, Health & Safety Policy and safe working practices, ensure responsibility for safety and discipline in work area and report accidents and ‘near misses’ in accordance with defined safety procedures.

Salary: £42,800 + 10% Bonus
