W2 Contract

Location: Redwood City, CA - Onsite Role
Job Summary:
The Legal department is seeking a Contracts Administrator to serve as a key operations and legal enablement partner to administer the contract lifecycle and system optimization. Reporting to the Associate General Counsel, Contracts, this role applies expertise in contract processes and cross-functional collaboration to develop scalable solutions and contribute to legal operations initiatives. The ideal candidate is a self-starter who can work autonomously and deliver process improvements that directly support business acceleration and legal compliance.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Distribute contract requests in accordance with departmental rules, including assignment of agreements to attorneys outside the U.S., and generate contracts based on agreement templates.
- Assist with management of end-to-end contract lifecycle for agreements, including helping coordinate drafts and contract execution for CDAs, MSAs, SOWs, and consulting/vendor agreements.
- Serve as subject matter expert for the Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM) system: administer workflows, configure templates, and generate performance reports and
- dashboards.
- Evaluate and implement process improvements to increase contract velocity, reduce risk, and ensure scalability as the company grows toward and beyond commercialization.
- Participate in cross-functional initiatives to align legal, procurement, compliance, and finance teams on contract policies, approval workflows, and documentation practices.
- Train business stakeholders on contracting standards, template usage, and system navigation.
- Partner with legal leadership to track and report on key performance indicators (KPIs), risk mitigation strategies, and audit readiness.
- Stay current with industry's best practices and emerging technologies in contract operations and make recommendations for adoption or enhancement.
- Act as liaison between Legal and IT or external vendors regarding contract systems upgrades, user support, and business continuity planning.
- Ensure the organization's contracts meet internal standards and legal, regulatory, and corporate governance requirements.
Requirements and Qualifications:
- Evaluate and implement process improvements to increase contract velocity, reduce risk, and ensure scalability as the company grows toward and beyond commercialization.

- Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree or certifications (e.g., IACCM, CLM, legal operations) preferred.
- 3-5+ years of contract administration or legal operations experience, with demonstrated progression and increasing responsibility.
- Proven expertise with CLM platforms (e.g., Conga CLM), including configuration, optimization, and reporting functions.
- Demonstrated experience with cross-functional contract-related initiatives and process improvements with measurable outcomes.
- Understanding of contract law principles, privacy, compliance (e.g., anti-kickback, data protection), and pharma/biotech regulatory considerations.
- Excellent project management and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize, execute, and drive outcomes independently.
- Highly effective communicator—able to explain complex processes clearly and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
- Comfortable using data to assess performance, support recommendations, and inform leadership decision-making.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience supporting legal or business operations in a pharmaceutical or life sciences company.
- Experience leading systems transitions, enterprise rollouts, or contract template harmonization initiatives.
- Certification in legal operations (e.g., CLOC's Core 12 competencies), Six Sigma, or project management (PMP) is a plus.
