The Cancer Biology group is looking for a talented senior research associate with a strong background in molecular, cancer, and cell biology to support early target discovery, screening, and validation efforts for novel oncology programs. They will work closely with scientists, utilize a wide array of cellular and molecular biology assays, and develop reagents to support the validation of novel targets for the unique molecular glue platform. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with mammalian cell culture and standard molecular biology techniques. They will participate in engineering new cell models and develop, optimize, and troubleshoot cellular assays. Above all, we are looking for a highly motivated and driven team player to join our diverse and talented team of scientists.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Design and conduct in vitro cellular assays (e.g., mammalian cell culture, Lentiviral Transduction, 2D and 3D cell culture, SDS-PAGE/Western blot, qPCR, CRISPR-based gene editing) and implement relevant assay readout technologies (e.g., Luciferase, CellTiter-Glo, TR-FRET/BRET, MSD).
- Engineer cell lines and establish cellular assay models.
- Maintain cultures of multiple cancer cell lines to support experimental efforts.
- Generate high-quality data in a timely manner and maintain detailed experimental records.
- Work with project scientists to process and analyze data and design new experiments.
- Regularly and effectively communicate findings at group meetings.
Requirements and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or Master’s degree in molecular biology, biochemistry, biotechnology, or related field.
- 5+ years of experience in a cell biology/molecular biology role.
- Extensive experience with mammalian cell culture techniques and manipulation of cells, including excellent aseptic technique.
- Experience in microplate-based assay systems and operation of plate readers or microscopes.
- Highly organized, with excellent record-keeping, problem-solving, and written/verbal communication skills.
- An energetic and proactive team player with the ability to work efficiently in a dynamic company environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Viral transduction and CRISPR/Cas9 gene editing experience.
- Familiarity with data processing and visualization tools for data analysis (e.g., GraphPad Prism) is preferred.
- Experience with automated liquid handling systems and workflows is preferred.
- Familiarity with cellular and biochemical readouts, including immunofluorescence, luminescence, cell viability, NanoBRET, ELISA, MSD, and flow cytometry, is preferred.
