NEET Officer (KL-NO) Uxbridge, England
Working on behalf of a Local Authority, Aatom Recruitment has an excellent opportunity for an experienced NEET Officer on a 3 months contract with a possibility of an extension.
Purpose of the role –
To engage young people who are NEET 16-18 (up to age 24 for LDD) who are identified by tracking or referrals to encourage and enable them into appropriate provision.
To support young people at risk of NEET by providing high quality support, advice and guidance to enable them to sustain participation in statutory education and post 16.
To work with schools, colleges and other education/training organisations, health, youth services, SEND, Social Care to offer targeted support to young people to enable them back into EET.
To maintain accurate electronic records of interventions and outcomes.
Duties/Responsibilities -
- Offer support and guidance to enable them to move into EET
- To deliver interventions directly to hard to reach young people and broker services from partner agencies, voluntary or community groups to prepare them for re-entry into education and/or employment.
- Work with schools to identify young people at risk of NEET to offer support and interventions.
- To be persistent in the engagement of young people who may be resistant by using assertive, creative and practical engagement strategies. This will include home visiting, telephoning and written correspondence and other agreed methods in attempts to assist the young person.
- To work and maintain effective communications with NEET young people and support them in accessing and engaging with universal and targeted services as required.
- Identifying and sourcing suitable EET opportunities and pathways to meet their needs, ascertaining entry and application requirements.
- Supporting the young person with the application process, including organisation of any preparation training.
- To review and evaluate effectiveness of interventions to ensure most effective use of resources.
- To attend case conferences, statutory reviews, TAFs and other meetings as required.
Knowledge/Skills/Qualifications/Experience -
- Advanced qualification or comparable experience in the field of 14-19 education, training or careers advice.
- Experience of working directly with young people in a frontline service, within a careers advice or education/training/employment context.
