Principal tasks and responsibilities include:

  • Provide overall leadership and direction to the Finance function across the organization.

  • Lead, coach, develop, and motivate the Finance team while building a positive, collaborative, and accountable culture.

  • Build strong relationships across Finance and the broader business, creating an environment where people feel supported, heard, and valued.

  • Act as a trusted Finance business partner to senior leadership and operational stakeholders.

  • Work closely with plant operations, supply chain, and other functional leaders to understand business priorities and provide financial insight and recommendations.

  • Build strong relationships with operational leaders and understand the business behind the numbers.

  • Listen to business stakeholders, understand their challenges, and translate financial information into practical business recommendations.

  • Work collaboratively with leaders across the organization to identify opportunities, solve problems, and support business objectives.

  • Challenge the business constructively while maintaining strong relationships, credibility, and trust.

  • Provide leadership with clear financial insight to support strategic and operational decision-making.

  • Lead monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial close and reporting processes for Canadian and U.S. entities.

  • Oversee consolidated reporting, balance sheet reviews, and preparation of financial statements.

  • Lead budgeting, forecasting, cash flow planning, and financial performance reporting.

  • Oversee external audit processes and act as a key liaison with external auditors.

  • Provide oversight of tax, treasury, banking, intercompany, and financial control activities.

  • Provide financial oversight and guidance related to inventory, costing, operational spending, and business performance.

  • Identify opportunities to improve Finance processes, reporting, controls, and overall effectiveness.

  • Partner with senior leadership on business initiatives, investments, operational decisions, and broader organizational priorities.

  • Ensure the Finance function is aligned with the organization's strategic objectives and provides meaningful value to the business.

Qualifications and pre-requisites:

· CPA designation
· Significant progressive Finance leadership experience
· Proven experience leading, coaching, and developing Finance teams
· Strong Canadian and U.S. Finance experience
· Strong technical knowledge across financial reporting, forecasting, budgeting, cash flow, month-end, and year-end close
· Experience with financial controls and external audit processes
· Manufacturing or automotive industry experience strongly preferred
· Demonstrated business partnering experience with senior leadership and operational stakeholders
· Strong business and commercial acumen with the ability to understand operational priorities and connect them to financial performance
· Strong ERP and financial systems experience, along with advanced Excel skills
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
· Strong listening skills with the ability to understand different perspectives and build trust across an organization
· Demonstrated emotional intelligence, maturity, and professionalism as a people leader
· Proven ability to build strong, collaborative relationships across different functions and levels of an organization
· Ability to navigate differing opinions and challenging situations in a constructive and professional manner
