We're looking for an experienced Housing Officer to join a busy tenancy services team, managing a varied caseload and delivering high-quality housing management services to residents.
This is a rewarding role where you'll balance tenancy support, enforcement, and safeguarding responsibilities while helping to create safer, stronger communities.
What You'll Be Doing
- Managing a range of tenancy and housing management cases.
- Investigating and resolving anti-social behaviour (ASB) and tenancy breaches.
- Supporting vulnerable residents and working with partner agencies to achieve positive outcomes.
- Conducting tenancy visits, estate inspections, and welfare checks.
- Preparing case files, witness statements, and legal documentation.
- Attending court hearings and representing the landlord in legal proceedings where required.
- Working closely with legal teams, police, social services, and other agencies.
- Handling complaints, disputes, and complex housing management issues.
- Ensuring properties, estates, and tenancies are managed effectively and safely.
You Will Need
- Previous experience in Housing Management, Tenancy Management, Neighbourhood Management, ASB, or a similar housing role.
- Strong knowledge of housing legislation, tenancy enforcement, and anti-social behaviour processes.
- Experience managing complex casework involving vulnerable residents.
- Confidence preparing legal documentation and supporting court proceedings.
- Excellent communication and conflict-resolution skills.
- Ability to make balanced decisions, combining support and enforcement where appropriate.
- Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office.
- Housing qualification (CIH or equivalent) desirable, although substantial relevant experience will also be considered.
