Electrical Maintenance Engineer (AC/EME) Huddersfield, England

Salary: GBP36000 - GBP38000 per annum

The job role

To ensure that machines and equipment are maintained according to the Company maintenance plans. To ensure that electrical installations meet current health and safety standards and legislation. To build and install new manufacturing equipment as directed. To assist in equipment risk assessments and the resulting remedial actions

 

Duties

Responsible for all site electrical installations and electrical equipment

  • Ensure all electrical installations and equipment meet legal requirements
  • Maintain and repair electrical installations and equipment as required
  • Assist in the building and modifications of electrical and mechanical equipment
  • Source electrical equipment as required
  • Proactively identify and implement improvements to working practices and manufacturing processes
  • Manage and reduce all aspects of machine downtime caused by electrical breakdown
  • Maintain an appropriate range of spare parts to ensure efficient machine / equipment operation
  • Responsibility for coordination of improvements to equipment, processes and systems of work identified by risk assessments
  • In conjunction with other responsible staff, ensure all operations are carried out in a safe manner with the authority to instruct staff to stop work that is conducted unsafely
  • Conduct periodic checks on electrical installations as required and in accordance with procedures and health and safety legislation
  • Contact external contractors when required
  • As part of the team, take decisions relating to Health and Safety, maintenance planning, fault diagnosis and repair solutions
  • Effectively manage time and jobs to ensure priorities are assessed and deadlines achieved
  • To develop skills to become a multi-skilled engineer, taking on tasks of a more mechanical nature
  • Any other duties as required commensurate with the role and level of responsibility of the post
