About the VP Legal (Local Conglomerate - Real Estate) Role:
As a VP Legal (Local Conglomerate - Real Estate), you will spearhead the legal department while also taking up important responsibilities in supporting the Board of Directors to execute company's expansion. 

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead General Corporate, Corporate Secretary, Ethic Compliance, Capital Markets, and Cross Border M&A of this company
• Develop and implement legal strategies aligned with the company's business objectives
• Provide leadership and guidance to the legal team, fostering a collaborative and results-driven culture
• Oversee legal aspects of real estate transactions, land acquisition, and development projects
• Ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations governing real estate activities
• Manage corporate governance matters and serve as the corporate secretary
• Ensure compliance with corporate laws and regulations, including board meeting preparation and documentation
• Optimise legal processes and procedures to enhance efficiency and effectiveness
• Implement best practices for legal operations, including contract management and document control
• Lead dispute resolution efforts, including negotiations, mediation, and litigation when necessary
• Collaborate with external legal counsel as required
• Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders
• Manage government relations to support the company's interests
• Develop and enforce ethical standards and compliance programmes
• Conduct regular audits to ensure adherence to legal and ethical standards
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support business expansion initiatives
• Provide legal guidance on mergers, acquisitions, and other strategic transactions

To succeed in this VP Legal (Local Conglomerate - Real Estate) based in Jakarta, Indonesia, you will need strong proven track record of successful achievements, stakeholder management, and leadership.

Key Requirements:

• Bachelor's or master's degree from an accredited law school
• Minimum of 15 years of experience in a senior legal role, preferably with experience from a local conglomerate
• Extensive experience in real estate and entertainment is a huge plus
• Experience in plantation companies is an advantage
• Experience in travel and tourism industry will be considered
• Experience in capital markets (equity) is a big advantage
• Strong understanding of government relations and stakeholder management
• Proven track record in ethics compliance and promoting a culture of integrity
• Excellent leadership and communication skills
