Research Associate (Drug Discovery)
W2 Contract
Salary Range: $135,200 - $156,000 per year
Location: Newark, CA - Onsite Role
Job Summary:
We are seeking a motivated Contract Research Associate to support ongoing research programs in a hands-on laboratory capacity. The successful candidate will conduct cell-based screening assays under the guidance of project scientists and contribute to the timely generation, analysis, and reporting of high-quality experimental data. This role requires strong technical expertise, meticulous attention to detail, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. This contract position focuses on experimental execution and data support for active discovery programs.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Execute and support cell-based reporter screening assays and in vitro biochemical assays, including ELISA, MSD, and flow cytometry.
- Collect, analyze, summarize, and communicate experimental results to project teams promptly.
- Maintain cell lines and perform routine laboratory tasks associated with assigned projects.
- Manage reagents, samples, and inventories, ensuring accurate documentation and database records.
- Ensure laboratory equipment, reagents, and procedures are maintained in compliance with SOPs and industry standards.
- Assist in drafting and updating technical documents, including assay protocols and data reports.
- Follow established SOPs and actively contribute to improving laboratory workflows.
Requirements and Qualifications:
- B.S. or M.S. in Cell Biology, Molecular Biology, Immunology, or a related scientific discipline.
- Relevant industry laboratory experience: 3 years with a B.S. or 1 year with an M.S.
- Hands-on experience with:
- Cell-based assays and routine cell culture
- MSD, ELISA, and flow cytometry
- Proficiency in data analysis and documentation software, including GraphPad Prism, flow cytometry platforms, and Microsoft Office.
- Exceptional attention to detail, organizational, and time management skills.
- Ability to adhere strictly to SOPs while adapting quickly to new procedures and project requirements.
- Capability to manage multiple tasks and priorities concurrently.
