Senior Sourcing & Merchandising Manager (Footwear) (SMMFW) Hong Kong

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop a merchandising team, ensuring strong execution, operational efficiency, and achievement of business objectives.
  • Drive sourcing, costing, product development, and order management activities across footwear and hosiery categories.
  • Build and maintain strategic relationships with customers, vendors, and manufacturing partners.
  • Manage supplier selection, performance evaluation, and capacity planning to ensure quality, delivery, and cost targets are achieved.
  • Lead commercial negotiations with customers and suppliers to maximize sales growth and profitability.
  • Oversee the end-to-end merchandising process, including critical path management, sampling, production follow-up, and delivery performance.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including quality, product development, supply chain, and operations.
  • Identify new product opportunities, market trends, and sourcing solutions to support future business expansion.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives and business enhancement projects across the sourcing organization.
  • Monitor business performance through key metrics including margin, supplier performance, quality, delivery, and operational efficiency.

Requirements

  • University degree or above.
  • Extensive merchandising experience within footwear or related consumer products categories.
  • Proven track record of leading and developing sizable merchandising teams.
  • Strong commercial acumen with solid experience in costing, pricing, and supplier negotiations.
  • Good understanding of manufacturing, production processes, sourcing, and quality management.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to work effectively across global and regional teams.
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and leadership capabilities.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Fluent in English; additional Asian language capability is an advantage.
  • Willingness to travel as required.
