Warehouse Team Leader

Pay Rate: £13.94 per hour

Temp to perm opportunity for the right candidate

Our client, a leading 3PL logistics and supply chain company is looking for a Warehouse Team Leader to join their team on a temporary basis with an opportunity of a permanent position for the right candidate. This is a full time role and is site based working a 40 hour week. Reporting into the Operations Manager, you will manage warehouse functions ensuring that operational activities are smooth and efficient, along with making sure we meet and exceed customer expectations. Managing a team of 30 direct reports you will have previous leadership skills in a similar role.

Key Responsibilities
• Provide appropriate management control through effective planning, organisation, control and communication to ensure that all key performance indicator targets in relation to service, productivity and performance are achieved
• Maintain an optimal level of operational efficiency and resources at all times, ensuring operating procedures and processes meet quality requirements and driving performance improvements such as LEAN methodology through auditing checks and processes and robust reporting mechanisms.
• Maintain high standards of health and safety, hygiene and security within the warehouse, ensuring that all relevant health, safety and environmental policies and procedures are adhered to and that appropriate controls are in place to ensure security of products within the site
• Identify and remedy gaps in the Warehouse Operations teams with regard to multi-skilling / flexibility across key skill areas.

Skills & Experience
• Leadership and ownership of actions to comply with relevant health, safety and environmental codes, policies and procedures
• Proven people management and team working skills
• Ability to prioritise own workload and that of others in a dynamic, time-sensitive environment
• Analytical skills with ability to produce clear and concise plans and reports based on qualitative and quantitative data
• Good knowledge of warehouse IT systems such as SAP and RF equipment
