Background
Looking for a senior data scientist to support the Last and First Mile Transformation for the Core Services product team. This cross-functional team is working on digital products to ensure all the deliveries and services can be optimized, automated and operate with a digitally mature supply chain process.
The scope of the consultant services is to assist in:
Optimizing the operating models used for the delivery and services, with the ongoing First and Last Mile Transformation initiative. The consultant will apply data science methodologies to develop and evaluate blended delivery solutions tailored to each market area. This includes analyzing current performance, identifying opportunities for efficiency and customer experience improvements, and supporting the design of scalable, data-driven models that enhance last mile operations across diverse geographic and operational contexts.
Requirements: Desired knowledge, experience, competence, skills etc:
- Proven experience in applying data science to optimize logistics, supply chain, or delivery operations, ideally in a retail or e-commerce context.
- Strong proficiency in statistical modeling, machine learning, and optimization techniques relevant to operational efficiency and route planning.
- Ability to work with large datasets and use tools such as Python, Gurubi, SQL, and cloud-based analytics platforms (e.g., Azure, AWS, GCP).
- Experience in designing and evaluating data-driven operating models, including scenario analysis and simulation.
- Strong business acumen and ability to translate complex data insights into actionable recommendations for stakeholders.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally with product, operations, and market teams.
- Experience in agile ways of working and iterative solution development.
- Knowledge of geospatial analytics and last mile delivery technologies is a plus.
