Conflicts Attorney - Leading US Law Firm (YBMV6N-F8AA6221) London, England
Our client is seeking a dynamic and motivated individual for the global role of Conflicts Attorney. This role is integral to the firm's critical risk management function, primarily responsible for reviewing and analysing conflict reports in connection with business intake (new clients and matters) and laterals. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work fully remotely, with flexibility to visit the office as required for training and team meetings.
Key responsibilities:
- Review complex conflict reports to identify and resolve potential legal and business-related conflict issues
- Provide detailed analysis and advice to partners, collaborating with them to resolve conflicts
- Prepare communications to attorneys, clearly identifying all potential issues
- Assist with the business and ethical conflict resolution
- Procure, review and draft conflict waivers for new matters
- Work closely with partners to obtain the waivers, as necessary
- Prepare and implement ethical walls, including drafting screening memoranda for matters and laterals
- Document or audit steps taken to resolve any actual or potential conflicts and store supporting documentation appropriately
Skills required:
- Comprehensive working knowledge of ethical, legal and risk management rules
- 4 years of conflicts-attorney experience preferred; preferable that experience in a multi-office, large international law firm
- Strong research, analytical skills
- Ability to prioritise work to meet deadlines
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Familiarity with the Intapp Open Conflicts System and Intapp Walls a plus
