Responsibilities:

The Senior Database Administrator’s role is to design, install, monitor, maintain, and performance tune databases while ensuring high levels of data availability. This individual is also responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing database policies and procedures to ensure the integrity and availability of databases and their accompanying software. Provide stable, consistent, well-managed databases for the CRS.

Administration roles include the installation, configuration, and patching of RDBMs’ (Oracle, MS-SQL, DB/2). Design, implement, and maintain database security (create and maintain users and roles, assign privileges) to ensure the highest standards to availability, resilience, integrity, and performance across the CRS..

Assess and develop long-term strategic goals for databases in conjunction with data owners and department managers. Work with application development staff to develop database architectures, coding standards, and quality assurance policies and procedures. Design and implement redundant systems, policies, and procedures for disaster recovery and data archiving to ensure effective protection and integrity of data assets.

Conduct research and make recommendations on database products, services, protocols, and standards in support of procurement and development efforts. Consult with Sr. Data Warehouse and Business Intelligence Architect to provide a strategic database direction for the organization. Research & evaluate new releases of the database as well as third party products in order to determine the appropriate tools for the organization. Conduct research into database issues, standards, products as well as client needs, regulations, technologies, and data conditions as required.

Must Have:

  • . 7-10 years of hands-on experience working as database administrator with Oracle / MS-SQL / DB2 in an enterprise environment with multiple database servers
  • 5years hands-on database tuning and troubleshooting experience
  • Degree in Computer Science / Engineering.
  • Certifications in Oracle (OCP/OCM) or MS-SQL (MCSE Data management and analytics / MCSA DBA) or IBM DB2 required.
Nice to Have:

  • Supply Chain experience
  • Experience with SAP or JDA.
