Quantity Surveyor

Quantity Surveyor (JO014557) Doha, Qatar

We are currently looking for a Quantity Surveyor to be based in Doha,Qatar, under the following conditions.

Terms and Conditions:

 Work Location: Qatar, Doha . Onshore

Working Schedule        

Work hours per day: 10 hrs./day

Work Days per Week: 6 days/week

Work day per Month: 26 days/month

Contract Term in Months: 12 Months

Mob/demob ticket: provided by MPH

Medical insurance: provided by MPH

Visa: Provided by MPH

Living allowance: provided by MPH for Accommodation and Transport


Key Job Accountabilities:

• Help monitor project costs by accurate measurement of the work required on a regular basis by applying expert knowledge of costs and prices of work, labour, materials and plant required.
• Coordinate with cost and contract administration to update BOQ’s in accordance with a published Standard Method of Measurement (SMM) – or Rules of Credit
• Develop a Quantity Surveying Procedure addressing units of measure, level of detail, frequency, deliverables, etc.
• Monitor drawing revisions and validate CONTRACTOR re-measures in the BOQs
• Measure and support evaluation of CONTRACTOR variations by reference to appropriate BOQs and rates
• Work with Cost Engineers to ensure CONTRACTOR variations are managed in accordance with the Project Management of Change Procedures
• Assist in preparing estimates for trends and the Project Management of Change Procedure
• Assist in managing Contract Changes by providing new rates build up or cost information
• Monitor CONTRACTOR progress of the work by interfacing with CONTRACTOR planning engineers.
• Provide quantity surveying support for technical verification of CONTRACTOR progress payment applications and recommend payments; prepare recommendations for interim payments, accrual payments, post-contract cost control and final accounts
• Forecast quantities to determine estimated final cost of measured work and quantity growth
• Assist Cost Engineers to calculate and validate Value of Work Done (VOWD)
• Assist Cost Engineers and Planning Engineers in developing final cost and schedule forecasts.
• Provide analyses and advice on contractual claims for progress payments, additional work, and close-out
• Support audits for final re-measurement and close out of quantities as installed prior to completion as applicable
• Ensure measurement data is properly received, documented, and stored, in both hard and soft copies and available for audit.
• Prepare reports for Project Management and other Project groups as required.
• Provide actual installed quantities as input to BOQ database.
