Electrical Team Lead

Electrical Team Lead (HQ00027875) Oman

We are currently looking for Electrical Team Leads for a long term rotational contract with our Client an Oil and Gas Exploration and Production Company based in Oman. Only Omani nationals.

The position requires an individual who can demonstrate extensive personnel management skills and with proven ability in the oversight and engagement with technical training and mentoring programs in particular in a national workforce environment.

Key responsibilities will include:

* Accountable for the management of the Operations Power Team, comprising Supervisors, Advisors, Consultants, Technicians and Operators responsible for the maintenance and operation of all low voltage, high voltage electrical and power generation/distribution, instrumentation, automation and communication equipment and systems.
* Acting as the primary interface between Local and Corporate Technical Authorities within the Electrical, Instrument, Automation and Communication disciplines.
* Providing leadership and guidance in the event of an unplanned event or shutdown related to the power systems.

The ideal candidate will have:

* Strong HES focus, understanding and commitment to the execution of safe operations in an oilfield environment.
* Experience in an operating oil field environment and in the provision of maintenance and technical support services.
* Technical knowledge and experience in oilfield electrical and instrument disciplines.
* Previous experience at SAEP level or Technical Authority level.
* Leadership and personnel management experience in a diverse and multi-cultural environment.
* Knowledge and understanding of technical training and mentoring programs.
* Ability to interface and interact with internal/external stakeholders and external vendors.
* Performance monitoring skills technical, financial and personnel.
* Knowledge, experience and understanding of CMMS and the individual applications and compliance requirements of such systems ie MAXIMO within the industry.
* Development and management of strategic maintenance plans to ensure the availability/reliability of the power, instrument, automation and communication systems.
* Knowledge, experience and understanding of Asset Integrity.
* Knowledge in oil and gas process control and theory.
* Knowledge in power generation and electrical distribution systems.
* Proven troubleshooting ability and experience.
* Excellent communication skills and a team player attitude.

Minimum requirements include:

* Minimum of a Technical Diploma in Electrical or Instrument Engineering.
* Minimum 8 years in a Leadership or Senior Supervisor role.
* Proven safety leader and understanding of contractor management.
* Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
* Understanding of budgets and cost control related to OPEX and CAPEX projects.
* Strong interpersonal, teamwork and communication skills.
* Effective communication skills and ability to influence and implement programs.
* Knowledge and experience at developing and implementing strategic plans for preventive maintenance such as Protection System Monitoring Program (PSMP) practices, personnel/equipment safety, electrical testing and test methods for electrical substations, switchgear, and transmission/distribution lines.
* Working knowledge of all international codes, policies, procedures and acceptable working practices related to Electrical and Instrument disciplines.
* Multi-tasking abilities.
* Competent in the use of PC's and the various software programs.
