About the Opportunity

Mnaamodzawin Health Services Inc. has a fantastic opportunity for Registered Nurses (Home Care) to join their friendly and dedicated team on Manitoulin Island.

Your goal will be to provide nursing care to individuals, families and communities throughout the five First Nation communities (Aundeck Omni Kaning, Sheguiandah, Sheshegwaning, Whitefish River, and Zhiibaahaasing). This will involve providing sensitive and culturally appropriate care, as well as incorporating physical, mental, social and emotional aspects to meet the needs of individual families and the community. In this position, you will also work to ensure that timely, high quality and compassionate care are provided at all times.

To be successful in this position, you will need to have a nurse diploma and be in good standing with The College of Registered Nurses. Specialized health-related experience is essential, as is experience with First Nation communities and knowledge of the Anishnaabe Culture/Customs. Experience in Community Health Nursing and Homecare Nursing is required, as are strong communication and computer (MS Office) skills.

A valid driver’s license and a reliable vehicle will be necessary for this role, as you will be travelling to various First Nation communities. Successful candidates must also be able to pass a security check.
