About the Opportunity

Currently, Sterling Western Star has multiple openings for full-time Journeyman Heavy Duty Mechanics for the Calgary (shift work) and Red Deer (regular schedule) locations in Alberta.

In this role, you will perform general maintenance and repair on heavy trucks and trailers. More specifically, you will:

  • Service transmissions, diagnostics, ABS, and suspensions, including king pins, shackle pins, bushings and wheel alignments; 
  • Perform gear work, Webasto and Espar installations, and repair differentials;
  • Perform 5th wheel over hauls and replacements;
  • Be responsible for cab interior and trim work; and
  • Read and interpret wiring diagrams.

To apply for this role, you must be a licensed Journeyman qualified to work in Alberta, or inter-provincially. It is also required that you have your Class 3 License and your own tools. It will be an asset if you have Engine Certification and CVIP Endorsement.

Successful candidates will be physically fit, and all offers of employment will be conditional based on a pre-employment physical arranged by the company.
