About the Opportunities
Yukon Hospital Corporation is seeking multiple full-time, part-time, and term-role Registered Nurses to work in Dawson City, Watson Lake, and Whitehorse, YK.
Opportunities exist for RNs in a wide variety of departments such as Operating Room, Emergency Room, Maternity, ICU, Pediatrics, and Psychiatrics.
The successful candidate is required to have the following:
- A Diploma/Baccalaureate degree in Nursing from a Canadian Nursing program or a recognized equivalent;
- A minimum of 1 to 3 years of acute care nursing experience;
- Current registration or the ability to register with the Yukon Registered Nurses Association (YRNA) for a practicing license;
- Non-Violent Crisis Intervention knowledge;
- A current C.P.R. certification; and
- A valid Yukon Driver’s license (Watson Lake Hospital only).
If you have certification in ACLS, NRP and TNCC, you would be at an advantage above the rest!
Please apply if you have an astute understanding of the general practices and procedures of professional nursing care. The ideal candidate will have a keen ability to provide professional care, especially in a cross cultural environment. You must also be able to instruct patients and families in health and rehabilitation practices. Importantly, you are effective in creating nursing care plans, and are dedicated to following an interdisciplinary team approach.
Our ideal candidate will have a natural commitment to lifelong learning, and therefore will stay abreast of new trends and developments in the nursing field. You must display good judgment and reasoning abilities, and be an excellent problem solver. As a skilled communicator both in written and verbal situations, you make an excellent leader who has the unique ability to teach other professionals in the industry. You must also be a computer-savvy individual as this will be a part of your daily activities.
