Educational Background:
Engineering degree in Mechanical.
 
Experience Requirements:  
Minimum 10 years’ experience in Mechanical Engineering with at least 5 years in the Oil and Gas or similar industry such as LNG and Refinery.
5 years’ experience in design and engineering of process piping and static equipment in onshore and offshore oil/gas processing facilities. Hands-on experience in maintenance and projects required.
Knowledge of the relevant international standards and codes of practice used in onshore and offshore oil and gas industry such as API, ANSI, ASME, ISO is required. 
Experience in pipe stress analysis using CAESAR II is required. Additional experience in AutoPIPE and ANSYS (finite element analysis software) is desirable.
Very good written and spoken English.
High computer literacy in both office and technical / engineering applications
Very strong team working skills, with the ability to interact effectively with a wide range of stakeholders.
 
Job Role & Responsibilities:
Undertake independent mechanical engineering studies, analysis, interpret and make conclusions on studies and tasks. Work independently on newly identified engineering problems. Prepares design, engineering specifications, and field support for static equipment, piping systems, HVAC, and lifting equipment. Assist Field/Project Engineers in selection of equipment to match the process duty, definition of the plant layout, and piping layout.
Prepares a comprehensive work-package, in consultation with other functional specialist engineers, Unit Engineers and Process Engineers. Administers within budgeted cost and arrive at a fully developed solution for the Engineering Work Requests referred to Engineering Department.
Should comprehend the plant problems like static equipment/piping/structural vibration, equipment malfunctioning and root-cause analysis under operating conditions. Well experienced in attending to operating plant field-troubles in line with the Operations/ Maintenance requirements.
Experience in performing piping stress analysis using CAESAR II software. Ability to use good engineering sense along with stress model to solve existing plant problems including vibrations, waterhammer, slug flow, and relief load analysis. Translates the piping model into a construction package with Civil & Structural Engineer/Designer and Drafting personnel.
Should co-work with other personnel and get in-sync with data interpretation and resolve for an acceptable solution and perform a job closeout. Starts from conceptual, detailed design, procurement assistance, construction observation and engineering assistance for commissioning services.
Should consolidate the developments of engineering packages from concept to close-out and generate a fully-referenced, auditable, and self-contained constructible work package.
Should provide support and technical services to the Mechanical Engineering team members, including field investigations, document search, co-ordination, follow-up, etc. Provide Technical support to all company Assets to ensure Asset Integrity.
Design review of engineering documents and specifications. Attend all design meetings and technical workshops.
Perform all necessary mechanical calculations and assessments.
Support HAZOP, HAZID, Risk Assessment, Cold Eye Review, What-if-Analysis.
Ensuring that the designs and project drawings meet the local regulations and international standards, and safety codes.
Perform economic/financial evaluation for feasibility studies for different facilities.
Review and Develop strategies to ensure continuity of service and optimum performance of systems. Perform site activities such as supervision & inspection.
Monitoring and supervising activities related to Mechanical Engineering and recommend projects / suggestions to ensure efficient and reliable operations.
Ensuring the consultants / contractors are delivering detailed designs according to the Company’s standards Requirements.
Support the department in ensuring that all drawings, standards, specifications, manuals and data books are kept up-to-date and “as-built”.
Carries out various duties related to conducting feasibility studies, developing cost estimates in conjunction with the Cost & Contracts Engineer, personally preparing conceptual or detailed designs or reviewing vendor’s final design drawings for approved projects, preparing capital authorization requests for approval, preparing bills of materials, participating in preparing purchase orders, following up on quotations, conducting technical bid analyses, answering queries from vendors and recommending suppliers or contractors.
Supervises the implementation of minor modification and improvement projects carried out in-house to ensure execution and completion of established Company standards and specifications. 
Acts as the focal point for mechanical engineering matters and provides expert technical advice to Management and other departments/divisions as required.  Also troubleshoots complex or recurring instrument or control system problems and recommends sound and cost-effective solutions as the problems arise.
Responsible for the support of Company Safety, environment and Quality policies and programs, and carrying out specific duties and responsibilities related to his job as spelled out in Management system documentation, policies, procedures, local documentation, Management System Manual, Safety Manual and other related documents.
