Educational Background: Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent in Engineering

Languages Required: Fluent English

Experience Requirements:
Experience: At least 15 years’ experience in the offshore oil & gas project with minimum 10 years’ experience as Marine Superintendent or Marine Specialist
Proven history of OVID and Heavy lift vessel suitability and compliance inspection
Experience of similar project during construction phase at yard will be a plus
Experience within a project team: At least 5 years’ experience within large multinational taskforce team environment
Track records of offshore attendance during jackets, decks and pipelines installation
Available for technical missions worldwide
Computer literate
Good leadership skills and good communication skills
Ability to work on projects in a complex and multicultural environment,
Good analytical skills

Job Role & Responsibilities:

Accountabilities
For development of Marine HSE culture on the Package through all phases of EPC’s T&I activities,
For development and implementation of a Marine organization for smooth Project development and technical coordination between Major Projects and the Company’s Marine Departments,
For proper interface and SIMOPS preparation between Contractor(s) to properly and timely define the Marine aspects of Transport and Installation (T&I) activities,
For Management of Marine T&I activities in accordance with statement of requirements, the Company’s specifications and contractual requirements,
For delivery of Marine input in engineering dossier for FEED for all EPC phases
For supervision of overall Marine activities in line with HSE, cost, planning and QA/QC objectives,
For internal technical reviews related to T&I Marine matters (Project technical reviews, SPOT, etc.) applicable during FEED, EPC and Installation
For OVID and suitability inspection of the fleet proposed by EPCI Contractors, in conjunction with Marine Dept.

Job Dimensions

The Project consists of:
During the course of the T&I execution he will supervise all Marine aspects of T&I activities and assist as required for the Management of Marine Warranty Surveyor’s activities.
Position based in the Major Projects premises in Doha with travels to EPCI Contractor’s premises or any other locations when required.
The Job holder belongs to the PMT team and reports directly to the Project Manager with a functional link to the Company’s Marine Department.

Activities
To promote & comply with applicable safety instructions and the Company’s HSE procedures in all Major Project’s Marine activities,
To carry out work in compliance with the Company’s values and policies, relevant laws and regulations, agreed priorities and objectives, standards and procedures and good industry practices,
To treat all information obtained during course of the work with confidentiality,
To establish and develop a close relationship with the Company’s Marine Department
To provide Project Management guidance to T&I Contractor to efficiently control his marine activities (from engineering till installation) and ensure proper coordination is made within involved Contractor’s entities (engineering, vendors, quality…) and various subcontractors.
To keep management regularly and properly informed on Marine related matters
To interface with fabrication yard(s) and T&I Contractor for the Marine aspects of load-out of piles, jackets, decks, bridges and various appurtenances, in close cooperation with MWS.
To anticipate the offshore activities and ensure Contractor starts in due time preparation of the fleet mobilization.
To manage assistance from shareholder marine specialists (remote head office), when required during all phases,
To be involved in EPC tenders from preparation of contracting strategy, CFT and bid evaluations including to manage the Marine technical analysis of offers for contractor selection for EPC,
Follow-up of engineering and vendor documentation reviews to ensure compliance with design dossier, SOR, Company specifications, Corporate standard and HSE regulation, international codes and classification society rules,
To ensure that T&I contractor Marine queries are reviewed and responded to in a timely manner,
To manage potential deviations from the Company’s referential with the Engineering Manager and the Company’s Marine Department for final decision on whether or not to implement,
To attend HAZID/ Project Technical reviews sessions with the Company’s, Contractors and vendors teams
To ensure that relevant feedback from previous similar projects are considered project works performance,
To attend weekly and monthly meetings with T&I Contractor(s), and call specific ad hoc meetings as required,
To ensure Company and MWS participation in the inspection/vetting of all fleet involved in T&I activities, in close coordination with the Company’s Marine Department.
To issue timely reply to various correspondences and issue correspondences on company concerns as required,
Issuance of close out reports and lessons learnt,
To carry out any other duty or task that may be assigned by hierarchical superiors.
