Experience Requirements:  

  • At least 10 in Oil & Gas projects with experience in tanker reconversion into FSO/FPSO.
  • Experience in offshore facilities (or FSO, FPSO) and merchant ships (tankers).
  • Available for technical missions worldwide.
  • Computer literate.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Ability to work on projects in a complex and multicultural environment.
  • Good analytical skills.

 

Job Role & Responsibilities:

Job Dimensions

Dedicated to the execution of two FSOs (i.e. conversion of two tankers), the project engineer will be based in the Major Projects premises until award of the FSO FEED CCFT, with potential missions to FEED Contractors offices. Candidate will then move to one of the selected FEED Contractor premises during FEED CCFT execution studies to act as a representative from NOC and will then move to the selected Contractor for the full execution of the project. The Job holder belongs to the ESO project team and reports to the ESO Project manager.

Activities

  • Promote & comply with applicable safety instructions and other Company HSE procedures in all activities
  • Carry out work in compliance with the Company’s values and policies, relevant laws and regulations, agreed the Company’s priorities and objectives, the Company’s standards and procedures and good industry practices
  • Until FSO contract award, follow-up and develop documentation for the selection of the FEED Contractors, follow technical aspect of the project during FEED, act as a representative from the Company for the project, provide feedback to the ESO project manager during the FSO FEED CCFT, review and coordinate technical documentation with engineering to ensure compliance with design dossier, SOR, the Company’s specifications, corporate standard and HSE regulation, international codes and classification society rules, help on the selection of the Contractor for project execution
  • After contract award to the FSO Contractor act as a project engineer and coordinate technical topics between the various package and with other entities of the Company, ensure that answer to queries from Contractor are done on a timely basis
  • Participate in the redaction of the scope of work to be sent with the project RFQ in view of FEEDs execution
  • Coordinate with engineering to ensure technical answers are in compliance with project specifications and procedures, the Company’s specifications, discipline requirements and international codes (SOLAS, MARPOL, ASME, API, IEC), Class requirements (e.g. BV offshore rules) with respect of cost, schedule and required level of quality and safety applicable to this project
  • Review and coordinate, in accordance with applicable procedures and requirements, the various documents issued by Contractors
  • Identification of any optimization / improvement in the design dossier to be implemented in the early stage of concept design
  • Promote alternatives design to reduce and to optimize planning and costs
  • Identify potential deviations from the Company’s referential and report these to the Engineering Manager for final decision on whether or not to implement
  • Ensure close coordination with other disciplines and other packages
  • Ensure that relevant feedback from previous similar projects are considered in the design performance
  • Participate actively in technical decision making, in meetings with potential Contractors and vendors
  • Participate in the technical analysis of offers and assist in vendor selection
  • Assistance in the finalization of contractual documents
  • Participate in weekly and monthly meetings with Contractors, and in specific ad hoc meetings as required by management
  • Provide technical answers to technical queries and/or provide support to engineering team in order to answers to queries
  • Manage assistance from shareholder specialists (remote head office), when required
  • Participate in the project reviews sessions when requested with the Company, Contractors and vendors teams
  • Provide technical answers and clarifications to internal project audit sessions (PR, HAZOP, etc.)
  • Coordinate engineering, procurement, construction, installation and commissioning aspects that will have been assigned to him
  • Ensure detailed progress reporting to project management
  • Assist project management team to reply to various correspondence by providing technical support
  • Carry out any other duty or task that may be assigned by hierarchical superiors
  • Treat all information obtained during course of the work with confidentiality
