Educational Background:

Bachelor’s degree in Environmental, Engineering, Chemical, Science, Supply Chain or related degree programme.

Languages Required:

Strong written & verbal communication skills on English. Mandarin is an add advantage.

Experience Requirements:  

Min 8+ sourcing experience in multi company related to energy-coal, LNG, fuel, renewable energy, risk management

Knowledge of the global energy market & outlook

Experience in renewable energy development – solar / wind, CHP, biogas

Experience in managing suppliers and cost drivers

 

Job Role & Responsibilities:

 

Position Propose

Develop and drive regional energy sourcing and strategies to leverage with the Company’s regional position in the market, drive stronger connectivity, accountability and relationships with the Company’s businesses, and meeting BU requirements.

Principle Accountabilities

Drive energy management efficiency with innovative and sustainable solutions in APAC region

Develop & maintain deep expertise in the energy category area (coal, LNG, electricity, fuel, renewable energy), e.g. market dynamics, supplier economics, SRM, environmental regulation and policy

Drive cost saving and deliver value; ensure intimate understanding of business needs – coordinate with local category tag, regional subcategory Business Relationship Manager (BRM) & CBS teams to achieve necessary knowledge of BU requirements and needs

Experience in energy risk management and hedging activities

Develop detailed understanding of the current subcategories activity within the Company, e.g. subcategories spending profile, supplier performance, volume forecasts, design specifications

Together with the regional category lead, develop subcategories strategies & drive execution through implementation at the enterprise and BU level with BRM

Lead regional subcategories efforts (engage & coordinate CSSP Procurement Team teams to execute strategies), e.g. gather spend baseline data, lead negotiations, cascade communication, monitor supplier performance and compliance to regional agreements

Support APAC Energy/Chemical Lead in executing global and regional category efforts (coordinate BU sourcing teams as necessary to support)

Ensure stakeholders engagement across entire sourcing lifecycle (establish responsibility matrix)

Maintain ties to appropriate industry groups and conduct ongoing research of industry benchmarks

Evaluate supplier and manage strategic supplier relationships

Establish subcategory KPIs and track performance for subcategory in coordination with BRM

Contribute and participate actively in cross functional activities/projects e.g. RTS, ACI

Experience managing complex, high-value supplier relationships

Track record of success in supplier consolidation and driving spend to preferred suppliers, contracts, and frame agreements

Demonstrated ability to manage and improve vendor performance
