User Research Applications Developer
Job description:
A User Research Application Developer builds tools, solutions, and infrastructure that help support User Research on games and entertainment products. These tools will assist User Researchers in answering one of the central questions of "what is fun" and how to make games more fun.
Primary responsibility: In collaboration with the User Research Lead, designs and develops internal business systems/applications under deadline pressure. Communicates and defends design, requirements, feature set, functionality and limitations of systems/applications to the User Research Lead. Works with the User Research team to determine tool and solution needs, set goals, and then designs and builds solutions to meet those goals.
Qualifications: Solid coding experience with Visual Basic, C#, and SQL. Experience in HCI, Human Factors, or related fields. General knowledge of human observational research, experimental design, and questionnaire research. Must be able to work quickly and independently. Must have excellent interpersonal skills including the ability to communicate with, and persuade, varied audiences.
Requirement: A BA/BS in Computer Science or related field required. An MA/MS or Ph.D. in HCI/HFE, or related field will also be considered. General knowledge of popular computer and video games and game culture are required. Must be a gamer'--likes to play games either on the PC and/or current gaming consoles (Xbox 360, Playstation 2, Wii). Must have experience in HCI, Human Factors, or User Research.
Technical skills required:
Specifically, we are looking for the following qualifications:
1.) Dev experience working on the Xbox One platform
Creating tools, automation, or games (or any combination of those) for the Xbox One
I assume C# programming experience, C++, .NET?
2.) Able to work well with other devs on a single project
3.) Bonus if the candidate has experience overseeing, or directing, other devs on a project
