Our client is a leader in the design, manufacture and service of some of the largest machines in the world. Our client's brands and products are respected and sought after by mining companies worldwide.We are currently looking for a Tooling Engineer in our Longview, TX location.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Design jigs, fixtures and equipment to support the manufacture of large scale mining equipment.
* Design certified lifting fixtures to lift and move large structures.
* Interface with Design Engineering early in design process to ensure timely completion of required tooling.
* Project manage designs through the prodcution process to the point of successful implementation.
* Research legacy equipment/jig/fixture designs in order to support maintenance and repair.
REQUIREMENTS:
* Familiar with Mining products and the manufacturing methods required to produce same.
* General knowledge of metalworking industries: heat treat, machining, welding, and electrical and mechanical assembly processes.
* Broad knowledge of mechanical, electrical, motor and hydraulic systems.
* Broad knowledge of fabrication methods associated with heavy manufacture.
* Knowledge of standard steel materials and associated mechanical properties and performance.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills.
* Organized and structured record keeping. Logical and orderly thought processes.
* Ability to effectively interface with both the hourly and salaried workforce.
* Ability to direct the activities of draftpersons and to review and approved detailed drawings.
* Ability to use 3D CAD software to generate both designs and associated piece parts.
* A bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering and a passing grade on the FE exam. Desire to pursue PE preferred.
