2x Turkey Pluckers - 2x Turkey Butchers (BK2836) Thirsk, England
The Position:
Castle Employment are looking for 2 Turkey Pluckers and 2 Turkey Butchers for a company based in Helmsley
Hours: Full time hours, you must be flexible. Mon – Sun 08:30 – 18:00
£7.20 Per hour
In this role you will be required to undertake a range of production line duties handling and processing raw poultry. Temporary workers will generally be assigned as part of a pool of workers and may be required to work in any department of the company (excluding evisceration)
Feather removal dry pluck system (SOP) - After being killed, the feathers are removed from the birds. The majority of feathers are removed using rotating steel discs, which pluck the birds. All remaining feathers are removed by dipping the birds in wax and then removing this.
Turkey Pluckers
Task: Removing small feathers and wax by hand from dead poultry. After the majority of the wax has been removed by the machine, there may still be some wax and feathers on the bird, which are removed by hand.
Turkey Butchers
Task: To gut, trim and prepare the turkeys, ready for packing and shipping out to customers
Any PPE equipment such as overalls will be provided.
