General Manager

Salary: GBP30000 - GBP35000 per annum

General Manager – Scarborough, North Yorkshire

We are recruiting for an experienced General Manager based in the York,  North Yorkshire area.  The position will  cover managing the restaurant and pub.  The post of General Manager is to deliver a first-class hospitality experience to its clientele. You will be working with the owners and senior management in running the establishment with a very hand-on approach. You will be instrumental in the successful running of all aspects of the business ensuring that is it financially and commercially viable. 

Competitive Salary: £30,000 to £35,000. The position is permanent and offers full-time hours working in a rota 5 days over 7, including some weekends.

You will be an excellent motivator and leader, with a focus on guest satisfaction and have General Management experience working in a restaurant environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Meet overall business targets
  • Plan the annual and periodic budgets for the venue and project work to meet targets
  • Form strong relationships with national and local food suppliers 
  • Management of the company’s Food Safety Management system
  • Controlling of monthly accounts, to ensure that the performance of the staff and venue is assessed and monitored, and that measures are agreed to secure further development of budgetary targets;
  • Budget management
  • Be in control of induction plans for all levels of staff, to include a comprehensive development and training plan.
  • Staff training 
  • Adhere to all compliance and legislation required
  • Ensure staff training is identified and delivered as required including COSHH, Food Hygiene, Manual Handling and First Aid.
  • Participate in management and staff meetings.
  • Undertake staff briefings daily
  • To assist with recruitment and induct of staff as required 
  • To review customer complaints, feedback explanations and take action when required
  • Ensure the company’s Health and Safety Policy is fully promoted and arrangements have been made to carry out the policy.
  • Ensure the company’s Food Safety Management System is fully promoted and arrangements are in place to fulfil the policy.

 

THE REQUIREMENTS:

  • This role requires the successful candidate to have at least three year's experience in a management role within the hospitality sector
  • Understanding of delivering a high-quality dining experience in a restaurant/pub venue.
  • Experience of devising and delivering new food and drink concepts, and relaunching, refurbishments and mobilising new contracts.
  • Proven track record in P & L control.
