General Operatives (BK2504) Scarborough, England

Castle Industrial and Construction are looking for general operatives for our client who is a successful manufacturing company based in Eastfield, Scarborough. They are looking for people with previous factory experience to work alongside their established team assisting in their production.
The role will require you to work within an industrial environment and will require you to be able to work as part of a team as well as being able to work on your own initiative. Due to the nature of the position you will be required to deal with the lifting of materials, both during production as well as in despatch and you must be able to work to instruction and follow working processes. As well as lifting you will be responsible for working machinery and may also be asked to assist in other areas of the factory dealing with ad hoc welding and other semi skilled duties.
This is a temporary ongoing contract with the potential of going permanent for the right person.
Successful candidates will be required to:
- Operate equipment and machinery in a safe and appropriate manner
- Work in accordance with Health and Safety procedures
- Follow and execute instructions.
- Be accurate, patient, careful, and responsible while working to target levels.
- Follow batch orders and specified work practices ensuring the end product is produced to agreed specifications
- Adhere to quality procedures as in process instructions
- Work to ensure continuous production is maintained where possible
- Undertake manual work
Desirable but not essential is:
- Previous welding experience
- Fork lift Truck Licence
Hours of Work: Shifts Available: 6am – 2pm, 2pm – 10pm (Occasional night shifts may be required if demand increases)
Hourly Rate of Pay: £7.25ph/£7.50ph – after 12 weeks goes up to £9.42
Duration: Temporary Ongoing, could genuinely lead to a permanent position for the right candidate.
