Castle Hospitality and Cleaning division are looking for an Experienced Baker for one of our clients based in the Whitby, North Yorkshire Area.  Our client is based on the outskirts of Whitby town and are a local family run business with a great reputation in the Yorkshire area.  This is a full time permanent position working five days over seven on a rotas basis. The role will include working on a weekend.

Day to Day Duties

We are seeking an experienced baker with at least one year of previous experience in a bakery. You will be responsible for opening the bakery in the morning, baking fresh loaves of bread, setting out the pastries and preparing fresh bread, pastries and other baked goods for the following day. It is also the baker’s responsibility to ensure the quality of the goods being used is up to par and make note of when supplies are running low so that an order can be made. We have both full-time and part-time positions available. 

  • Mixing, preparing and baking bread and pastries.
  • Opening the bakery every morning.
  • Arranging the display case in an appealing manner.
  • Ordering more supplies.
  • Crafting and creating new and exciting baked goods.
  • Ensuring all baked goods are completed on time for opening
  • To be creative and passionate about food and offer ideas to head chef for menu changes
  • To follow all hygiene protocols and supporting the team to keep the kitchen clean and tidy at all times

Requirements

  1. To have previous Baker experience
  2. To be aware of hygienic protocols in a kitchen
  3. To be comfortable working in a busy kitchen
  4. Having worked with fresh produce is advantageous
  5. To be passionate about food
  1. Ability to read and follow recipes.
  3. Good organisational skills.
  4. Must be able to adhere to health and safety regulations.
  5. Ability to meet strict deadlines.
  6. Creativity in crafting new pastrie
