Salary: GBP28000 - GBP28000 per annum

Castle Hospitality & Cleaning division has an exciting opportunity and is recruiting for an experienced Restaurant Manager for an award-winning, unique hospitality client based in the Helmsley, North Yorkshire area. The successful applicant is responsible for the running of the restaurant ensuring all targets are met and all guest are served to the highest standard possible. The aim of the role is to set, monitor and control consistent standards in all areas of food and beverage, to ensure that the highest quality of the product is maintained at all times, and drive costs in line with Restaurant budgets and targets.

 

Main Responsibilities:

  • To oversee the compilation of all staff rotas according to occupancy levels.
  • When staff vacancies occur, implement the recruitment procedure after consultation with the Operation Manager.
  • To ensure a full induction to the Department for all staff members, as within company policy.
  • To oversee the training of new staff as well as ongoing training for existing staff. 
  • To appraise staff on a regular basis and maintain a stable motivated workforce.
  • To set measurable objectives for team members and monitor through regular appraisals.
  • All tasks performed in your job should be as per relevant Company Standards or advised to you in weekly training sessions.
  • To achieve Departmental standards as defined in your Standards Manual.
  • To take an active role as a management team member, welcoming new members of staff, assisting with their training and participating fully in all ongoing training initiatives.
  • To communicate relevant matters to the team and ensure that they are familiar with the hotel product knowledge and future plans.
  • Maintain staff discipline and grievance procedures in accordance with company guidelines and keeping records of problems where appropriate.
  • Be aware of the implications of relevant employment legislation, equal opportunities, sex discrimination and race discrimination etc.
  • To develop a well-motivated team and recognise any lack of team spirit and ensure that remedial action is taken.
  • Attend meetings as requested by the management of the hotel.
  • To be aware of all legislation that is relevant to your work and ensure that all legal requirements are met, including licensing, Health and Safety at Work, COSHH, Environmental Health, Fire Precautions, Manual Handling and any others.

  • Keep control of stock and dry store good to minimise wastage
  • Leadership skills combined with a team player attitude.
  • Ensure the effective implementation of tasks through communication.
  • Good Communication skills.
  • The ability to work independently and resourcefully.
  • Maintain a professional attitude and demeanour, including courteous interactions with colleagues and employees, encountered in the course of work.
  • Be flexible with work schedules, remain calm and courteous and exercise self-control when interacting with impatient individuals.
